This lightweight, easy to handle machine can be used first to vacuum loose particles from the floor that electrostatic pads (such as the swiffer) just don't pick up, and usually leave behind, ensuring that all of the loose dirt is vacuumed from the floor first, which greatly improves the second step of the process, the wet cleaning.

For Best Results, it's recommended that you use Bissell Brand Floor Cleaners only, such as the Bissell 2X Hard Floor Solution Formula, 16 oz Part
56L9, or for Hardwood floors, the Bissell 2X Wood Floor Solutions Formula 16 oz, Part 81T7 is recommended.
The Gentle Clean microfiber pads are very easy to install, and remove in order to clean, and can simply be thrown in the washing machine for cleaning. It's best however that the pads not be used in a heated dryer, instead allow them to be completely air dried. The pads are reusable, and washable, however we've noticed after 10-12 cycles through the washing machine, the pads begin to loose their effectiveness, and it's at this point when it's recommended that you go ahead and replace the pads with new ones.
The only other parts which you'll need to make sure to perform routine maintenance on is the dust cup filters, which too are washable, but like the pads will begin to loose their effectiveness after 10 or so cleanings. To maintain peak performance of your Bissell 60P4 Vac & Shine, it's recommended that you replace these filters once every 6 months.
