CleanMate robotic vacuum - a whole different kind of clean-Written by Brent Mitchell You’d expect a robot vacuum to pick-up dust, dirt, and pet hair but killing bacteria and deodorizing is something new. This is our first look at Metapo’s entry in the robotic vacuum world. With this list of features it looks like they’re off to a great start.
At first glance the CleanMate looks like the typical robot vacuum. Its round compact profile allows it to clean under couches, beds and other hard to get places. If it does happen to get stuck it will stop and make a sound to alert you. It is equipped with sensors to detect and avoid stairs. But as you take a closer look you’ll see that the CheckMate isn’t typical.
Have you ever lost a remote? The CleanMate has a spot built for its remote right on the top cover of the robot making easy to find. With the remote you can command CleanMate to clean any part of a room. Next, there is a special built in slot to put in fragrance to remove odors. Finally, what makes the CleanMate really stand out is the ultraviolet tube underneath. It generates ozone and disinfect as it cleans.
CleanMate is equipped with a high efficiency rolling brush suitable for most floors except plush or fur carpets. To ensure your floor is effectively covered the CleanMate uses a fives step repetitive rotation movement. If you’d like you can also select a specific pattern. You can set the length of cleaning time in 10 minute increments from 10 to 80 minutes.
There are two CleanMate models. The QQ-1 is the standard model. If it has a low battery or finishes cleaning it will move to a bright spot of the room where it can be easily found. The QQ-1 Model sells for about $130 and is available in red, blue or silver. The QQ-2 model is expected to be available this spring. Pricing for it isn’t available yet.

The CleanMate Remote enables you to perform a variety of tasks with your CleanMate without touching the main unit. You can turn your CleanMate on and off, drive CleanMate to specific areas to be cleaned, select cleaning pattern and set the timer. You can embed remote control unit when not in use directly into CleanMate’s upper cover to prevent it from being lost.
The remote control uses infrared light to communicate with the main unit. Point the remote to the main unit within 3 meters or 8 feet distance without any blocking objects.
It will take about 2 ½ hours to recharge a fully depleted battery. It will take 12 hours to charge the battery for the first time to achieve peak battery performance.
You need to recharge it manually with the battery charger. Turn off the power switch and plug in the battery charger into an AC outlet and insert wire terminal into the power jack which is located next to the on/off switch. It is similar to the way you recharge your cell phone. The POWER green light will flash during charging, and will become a steady green once the battery is fully charged.
The LOWER BATT CHARGE red light will come on with a buzzing noise to indicate that the battery should be recharged.
In USA/Canada area, battery charger is 120V 60Hz. Different charger will be used outside USA/Canada , please consult your distributor or retailer for the right type of charger.
