Powerful Yet Affordable! While a desire to save money is justified, you should not sacrifice quality just to spare a few dollars. You will only end up with a vacuum cleaner that doesn't meet your needs and you'll find yourself shopping for a new model much sooner than you'd like! There are several Eureka models that are affordable but also get the job done. Models with features such as a True HEPA filter, sound reduction and wide cleaning path will be more expensive than more basic Eureka models but are still more affordable than vacuum cleaners from many other top manufacturers. GoVacuum.com is your premiere destination for purchasing Eureka vacuum cleaners online. We carry a variety of models ranging in price from around $50 to nearly $300. Select the model with the features that best meet your cleaning needs, order online and receive free shipping and pay no sales tax (outside Virginia). Eureka Company HistoryThe word Eureka means, “I found it.” Greek physicist Archimedes allegedly exclaimed “Eureka!” when he discovered the theory of water displacement. According to company legend, when Fred Wardell founded the company in 1909, he felt that the term “Eureka” symbolized a company that would create innovative products that would have an impact on the world. Still, the Eureka brand continues to be recognized as one of the top vacuum cleaners in the world. Eureka products are for sale throughout North America and in 44 other nations. It’s a brand that will remain strong into the future. Nowadays, Eureka is a brand product of the Electrolux Home Care company and Eureka concentrates exclusively on manufacturing and distributing more than 130 different models of vacuum cleaners and other home and commercial cleaning products. The company (Electrolux home care) includes three brands: Eureka, Electrolux, Sanitaire. All machines, parts, and appliances for these brands are available through govacuum.com. As a full-line, Eureka offers uprights (including those with attachments), canisters, hand-held vacuums, home built-in systems, stick vacuums, battery-powered vacuum cleaners, wet-dry vacs, steam cleaners and home cleaning systems. Eureka also manufactures and offers original and replacement parts, including bags, belts, and filters for the models it manufactures. Frequently Asked Questions for Eureka 1. How often should I change the bag in my cleaner? Plan to change the vacuum bag monthly. Check more often if your home is large, if you have children, if there is a lot of foot traffic in your house or if you have pets. When cleaning fine dust and debris, the filtration through the bag will be reduced. Under these conditions, the bag should be changed more often. If the dirt is above the line printed on the bag, change it immediately. Some Eureka models have a bag change indicator that is activated when the bag becomes full. 2. Why do I need to change the belts on my vacuum? Belts are rubber and will stretch and wear out. The belt turns the brushroll at thousands of revolutions per minute. The tighter or newer the belt, the better the vacuum will perform. You will need your model number to order the right belt. 3. When should I replace my belt? The agitator belt should be checked periodically for any signs for wear that can result from normal use over time. Plan on changing the belt every six months. Refer to your owner's manual for detailed instruction on how to replace your cleaner's belt. 4. When does my filter need to be replaced? It depends upon the type of vacuum and filtration on the model you own. Eureka vacuums have three types of filters. Micron Filtration is not a separate filter, but is part of the bag itself. If you change bags monthly and use the Filteraire bags, your filtration should remain powerful. True, HEPA filters should be replaced every six months to maintain peak filtration. The small fabric filters that cover the back of the bagless cassette and the entrance into the casing beneath the cassette can be rinsed out and dried thoroughly then put back into place. After a year they should also be replaced. The washable HEPA filter, available on some cleaners, should be cleaned about every 8 weeks. Any time you rinse or wash the filters make sure they are dry before placing them back in the vacuum. 5. What is causing my vacuum to get noisier? Three common reasons for increased noise are a broken fan blade, a broken belt or an obstruction in the brush-roll area. 6. The dirt is not going into the bag or cassette. How do I fix this? There are a few things you will need to check. If your vacuum has a detachable hose, make sure it is firmly connected. Make sure the hose is emptying the dirt into either the bag or the cassette. On bagged models the hose needs to protrude into the filter bag. If these connections look right, check for a clog or obstruction in the hose. 7. Why is there a burning smell? Check for a broken belt. Make sure the cord hasn't been caught under the vacuum and check to see if something else may have been caught by the vacuum. You are here:
