The new Hoover Platinum Collection Bagless Cordless Stick Vac is the most powerful cordless stick vac on the market. This cordless stick vac comes with a best-in-class 6 year parts and labor warranty. The Hoover Linx Platinum Collection Bagless Stick vacuum runs on an 18 Volt Lithium-Ion Battery, the same type of batteries that power Hybrid Vehicles. The Hoover Linx Lithium-Ion battery system uses fade free technology that ensures that batteries sustain 100% power until the battery is completely drained, as opposed to traditional Ni-CD batteries that most other cordless vacuums use that will slowly loose power and suction as the battery looses its charge.
The battery that is used in this vacuum (pictured below) is part of Hoover's new Linx series. This 1 battery can be used with all of their new Linx cordless vacuums, including the new Hoover Linx Cordless Hand Vacuum, model number BH50015(Hoover is also rumored to be in the process of making a cordless SteamVac which will also use this same battery).
The machine also has a battery fuel gauge, conveniently alerting you to the remaining battery life. The Linx Stick Vac has a motorized power brush attached, which deep cleans even the thickest plush carpeting. Easily transistion from carpets to bare floor with a flip of the rug/floor switch on the handle of the machine. Edge Cleaning Bristles on both sides of the roller brush allow you to easily get along baseboards and corners. The Hoover Linx Bagless Stick Vacuum, model BH50010 uses WindTunnel Technology and cyclonic filtration that out performs even some traditional coded uprights on bare floors.
The rear wheels on this model are made of soft non-marring rubber to prevent any scratching or gouging of delicate hardwood, marble, or tile floors.

The Hoover Linx Bagless Cordless Stick Vac has the cleaning power of a full size upright, but with the body of a lightweight stick vacuum. We were very impressed here at GoVacuum how powerful this motor really is. This machine is ideal for those in between cleanings or quick picks ups, or for someone who has a physical disability and can't push around a full size vacuum, but has to vacuum the house themselves.
What really is impressive on the machine is the fact it has a separate motor for the power brush. This brush does an excellent job on carpeting, and will eat pet hair for breakfast! Most cordless stick vacuums leave a lot to be desired in terms of the suction power, and cleaning carpets, however the Hoover Linx Stick Vacuum and it's motorized power head are ideal for all surfaces of flooring, including homes with pets, or thick carpets.
What's even better is that Hoover has really backed up this machine by giving it a 6 Year Parts And Labor Warranty. Most other cordless vacuums come with a 1 year warranty.
The battery life was a little disappointing as we were only able to vacuum for 20 minutes before the battery died, however within 3 hours of the battery being placed on the charger, we were back up and cleaning on a full charge. Like most bagless vacuums, this machine will tend to expel more particles then a bagged model would, so if you have allergies or breathing issues this may be a concern for you. The motor filter is washable, and should be washed every 3 months for maximum efficiency.
