Dustbag- A clean dust bag is essential to the maximum efficiency of the vacuum. A clogged can cause restricted air flow resulting in poor suction or, in extreme cases,an overheat condition can occur resulting in the vacuum shutting off. An ORANGE indicator light next to the tool access button identifies a dustbag filled to capacity. An overheat condition is identified by a TRIANGULAR LIGHT on the control panel. Changing the dustbag is relatively easy. The most important thing to remember is to use the correct bag. A list of dustbag and the unit used in is located in the Product Line Information List in Section 1.
To change the dustbag:
1.Open the lid
2. Grasp the dustbag using the two finger holes and pull up. Doing so automatically closes the bag cover preventing debris and dust from escaping from the bag.
3. Discard the full bag in a suitable container (trash can)
4.Remove the NEW dustbag from the box.DO NOT UNFOLD IT .
5.Slide the tabs into the frame as far as it will go
6.Close the lid.
NOTE: If the clog caused an overheat condition,Wait approximately 30 minutes for the motor to cool
Filter- The filtration is what gives Miele vacuums the edge . Miele canister vacuums use several types of filters to provide a clean. healthy environment. Super Air Clean,Active Air Clean and Active HEPA,are the filter types used. An illustration is below. The model of vacuum will dictate the filter(s) type.
a. Super Air Clean
b. Active Air Clean
c. Active HEPA(High Efficiency Particulate Air)
Changing from one type of filter to another type ia permitted.(i.e. Active Air Clean to Active HEPA)
REPLACING THE SUPER AIR CLEAN FILTER
1. Release the filter grill and raise it up
2. Carefully grasp the SUPER air clean filter at an UNSOILED section and remove
3. Replace with a new filter.it can be inserted either side up
4. Lower the grill and snap into place
5. Close the dust compartment lid until it "CLICKS"
REPLACING THE ACTIVE AIR CLEAN and the ACTIVE HEPA FILTER
1. OPEN THE DUST COMPARTMENT LID
2. Release the catch and remove the filter
3. Insert the new filter so that it engages at the BACK and then close the catch
4. Close the dust compartment lid until it "CLICKS"
NOTE: Remember to reset the filter change indicator by pressing it until it goes out
REPLACING ONE TYPE OF FILTER WITH ANOTHER
If you wish to replace the SUPER CLEAN FILTER with the ACTIVE AIR CLEAN FILTER or the ACTIVE HEPA FILTER, you MUST REMOVE the grill BEFORE inserting the new type filter.
If you wish to replace the ACTIVE AIR CLEAN FILTER or the ACTIVE HEPA FILTER with the SUPER CLEAN FILTER then you MUST ALSO INSERT the grill.
The ACTIVE AIR CLEAN FILTER can be used instead of the ACTIVE HEPA FILTER,or vice versa, without any change.
